Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University

Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University is the only higher educational institution in Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti region and it is located near the occupied territory of Abkhazia. About 2000 students get education on higher and vocational educational programmes. About 50% of the students are from the occupied territory of Abkhazia having a status of IDPs.
Zugdidi University plays huge role in the regional development and provides knowledge to the society under the Lifelong Learning principle. Under the demands of the labour market, Zugdidi University implements 15 bachelor and master higher educational as well as 37 vocational programmes.
