Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture: Supporting Smarter Decisions

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming one of the most transformative technologies in modern agriculture. By analysing large volumes of agricultural data, AI helps farmers make faster, more accurate and more informed decisions.

From monitoring crop health and detecting diseases to predicting yields and optimising irrigation, AI-powered systems support farmers in managing resources more efficiently while improving productivity and sustainability.

AI does not replace farmers. Instead, it provides better information that strengthens human expertise and supports smarter decision-making.

Preparing future agricultural professionals to work with AI technologies is becoming increasingly important. Understanding digital platforms, intelligent decision-support systems and data analysis is now part of the modern agricultural skill set.

Through the new MSc programme in Precision Agriculture and Digital Farming, the ReGrow project helps students develop competencies that enable them to work confidently with advanced digital technologies and contribute to a more innovative and sustainable agricultural sector.
